Reading the Bible in 90 Days

I had never heard of this challenge/book before a dear friend told me she does this year after year with women in her community. It is around 1 hour of reading for 90 days straight and you complete both the Old and the New Testament. Sounds kinda scary but I am excited. She couldn’t speak highly enough about the value of seeing the bigger picture of God’s story, His heart.

Since hearing about this discipleship tool I have been learning about the value of story in our lives. Practically speaking, story has been proven to enhance our brains ability to memorize and recall facts. Story can also connect us to our roots and can keep us anchored in the wildest of storms. The telling of stories, personal and biblical, has been linked to the success of families passing on their faith to their kids.

Story is a powerful thing, so imagine what God’s story can do if we immerse ourselves in it! I am adding this to my rule of life. Each year I want to rotate reading a large portion of scripture in a concentrated period of time. For example, this year I am reading both the Old and New Testaments. Next year I will just read the Old and the following year just the New.

Here is the book I am using if you want to journey along with me!
