A Song of Sabbath Rest

I have had this song on my playlist for a while but hearing it today on the Sabbath, I heard it in a new way. We are always wrestling with what it means to honor a Sabbath in each new season life brings and this song is expanding and connecting my understanding of Sabbath rest.

We have been talking to our kids about coping skills and how to regulate themselves when they get ‘whooshed’ up in life. I think the Sabbath is offering me an opportunity to weekly stop and regulate all my thoughts, feelings, and actions and live in reality. Reality is where the Lord lives, not where I hide or pretend to be. How I desperately need this type of centering and rest in Christ. Anchoring myself right where the Lord has me. Letting the ground hold me, in His presence. Letting the ground hold my children, trusting His presence is pursuing and holding them right where they are/need to be. Allowing the Lord to write my story, their story, and breathe deep no matter what chapter we might be in.

May the Lord be near you as you listen.

Centering Prayer

I am a wife, a mom, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and intimidated by making a short summary of myself. I am an Enneagram 2. I have a heart for discipleship. My favorite thing is to walk alongside of someone as they take courageous steps in their life.
