What did I learn about God? What is my take-away?
I am blown away by the bigness of this story that the Lord has been unfolding and writing since the beginning of time. Just in these final chapters here in Genesis we see Jacob crossing his hands and intentionally blessing the younger to be over the older. This has happened several times in the book and this time Joseph speaks up and tries to thwart the master plan by correcting his father. But God has Jacob stay firm. Over and over again, throughout the entire Joseph story, God’s sovereign hand is behind everything.
It has always been about the Lord bringing His kingdom to Earth. Righting the wrong that happened in Genesis 3, drawing us back to himself, and bringing an end to the serpent. What a massive story He is directing. I want to let my smallness sink in. I want to take a breath and relax. He won’t let me miss my part in His Kingdom. I want to keep making space for Him to move. He has always been faithful and will continue to be.
